Fluent in both English and Spanish, he offers culturally sensitive care and works to reduce health disparities, particularly in cancer screening and prevention. His career reflects a commitment to improving outcomes for patients, with a special interest in lung and breast cancer.
Dr. Galeas earned his medical degree from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras Facultad de Ciencias Médicas and further honed his expertise during his residency and fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. His move to New York was motivated by his desire to be closer to family while continuing his impactful work in oncology research and patient care.
A leader in quality improvement initiatives, Dr. Galeas' recent role as Quality Improvement Leader at Infirmary Cancer Care has seen him spearhead projects aimed at increasing cancer screening rates, optimizing molecular testing, and reducing treatment delays, especially in lung and breast cancer cases.
