Medical Oncology & Hematology

Dr. Anurag Sharma is a dedicated board-certified hematologist-oncologist and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. His research has been published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and he has presented at various national and international oncology meetings, including the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.

Previously, Dr. Sharma worked at New York Presbyterian Westchester, where he served as the Director of the Cardio-Oncology Program and as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He has extensive expertise in treating a range of hematological and oncological diseases, with a special focus on breast cancer.

Dr. Sharma graduated from the Government Medical College in Amritsar, India, before completing his residency in internal medicine through New York Medical College. He then pursued his hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

Passionate about community education, Dr. Sharma actively engages in initiatives aimed at cancer prevention and awareness. He believes in empowering patients through knowledge to facilitate shared decision-making regarding their cancer care. His approach to patient care emphasizes empathy, clear communication, and personalized treatment, ensuring that his patients are always the priority.

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Sharma enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking and traveling, which allows him to experience new cultures. He is fluent in both Hindi and Punjabi, enabling him to connect with a diverse patient population.
